vegan wagon

night dark on a curve
fell off the vegan wagon,
toppled it, let it skid down the hill
over the falls, disappeared in the rapids.

last seen breaking up,
heading downstream,
sails up while under
a full head of steam.

wasn’t my fault.
collided with a
sweet scent
at the fair.

wouldn’t buffalo you,
nothing was fare.
like love, babe,
you just had to be there.

to buffalo is an old verb/term not often used. it means to say something that is not the truth. To kid, or to lie is to buffaloe someone.

After you said mentioned it, i tried to look up buffalo and couldn't find this meaning, so i write this for you.

and i didn't buffalo you.

Makes me think of that Scott Pilgrim movie....the Vegan Police are there to arrest any Vegans who cross the line :).

Hi Jack,
I'm a vegetarian, but not a vegan. I eat dairy, and I've never tried not to; but not eating meat, fish, or poultry, seems so right to me (for me), ever since I was fifteen, and I've never missed it. I hear from others, though, how hard it is to give up, and I'm sure a scent at the fair, would be enough to fall "off the vegan wagon!"

And don't pick flowers in case they scream at my vegan kitchenette!
