Sunny rain
Didn’t happen. Rain came, swept in.
Sun remained behind clouds.
Two walkers were poured upon
The weather will swirl in predictions
We’ll have to wait to see how it goes.
And that’s a prediction you can depend on.

Nothing novel
Cloud cover sans moisture
We tolerate the heavy grey
Days like this until relief
Think the last of winter will be brief
Completely still as we look out.
Nothing moves.
Not a fresh breath breaks stillness.
Not track of hooves
People get ready, song by Curtis Mayfield.
I asked to write with him
He said he writes alone.
Curtis mayfield 1942 - 1999
9:53 a car went by.

Caught up
A Wednesday and fog some.
A bluebird out in front, kitchen side
To see Monica this noon.
Another nothing doing day.
Will put together events
Thinking engagements
Preparing for spring

Chance of perfection
Not banging one out of the ballpark.
To the wall will do if I run well.
Looks sunshiny today can you imagine.
Dandy light blue if you’re sky wondering.
Outside is alive with cars going by case you want to know.
Too season early for green, but get ready.
I’ve off the planet wonderful on my mind.

Turn and wist
Shouting out good morning, New
Our dear deer I mean rabbit was seen at dawn
At home again where she oughter be.
A good lead to Spring.
And now she’s gone

Reality is Not what you think
Fold up gas pedals
Keep you alert,
on your toes.
Steady in the squeeze.
Reach out for me, Tiger.
Hold on to what you’ve got.
That’s saying a lot

Warm then cold
Clouded over, though it probably means nothing
Wind picked up as forecasters predicted.
How did they know?
I said they because I think there are several.
Tuesday, February 27, 2024
My day
One of them
I’ll share with you.
No snow this morn.
Tai restaurant lunch planned a.
Been there four times,
Still don’t know what I’ll order
Or what I think of the place.
But I like Tai food, I think.

Dark start on the day
From the middle
Dad broke his fiddle
And he won’t play no more
So he won’t play no more
He’s lost in the middle
Without out his fiddle
And dad won’t play
No more
Always was a morning Joe
Going where the women go
And loving it
He’s got love to keep him warm

Final February week 24
This Sunday sounds sunny starting off
The day looks pleasant, what’d ya say?
Birds and hounds are on their way.
Stepping out in sunshine; quite a day.
Saturday, February 24, 2024
Last cold day
A brave or foolish phrase to mutter.
Never before this early have I forecast
an early warm spell on our way.
Caught into the calls for global warming
I know it’s early

Friday gets away
Fair weather day, all seems okay.
Will get done what I can.
Sky is bright, how are ya?
Working on cleaning,
Threw paintings away,
Making room today.
Have far to go and time is tight.
Space seems at a premium.
Winter has gone away.

rainy day in February
shifting days seem ready to change
no snow and wet out.
drops glisten.
not so cold.
waking to the fact a dear friend has died.
a strong family man.
my hero.
where are we now
Tuesday, February 20, 2024
His son called
It was six in the morning, I fumbled
as I picked up the phone,
saw his name on the readout,
He never called me before.
Got the phone to my ear.
“Hello.”
“Jack, this is Lorenzo … ”
I heard all he was going to tell me in his voice
And it shocked me.

Sandro got away
How could it happen
My friend Alessandro has died.
I slipped up not seeing him when we were there.
He and I knew how close we felt,
We both let our friendship slip.
This was an accident.
Somehow we got away.

Changing days
Sky is light blue
Someone zipped by
No falling snow
What we have looks thinner
Although it’s too cold to begin melting.
Tomorrow for sure we turn to higher temperatures
.

In from where
The ground is covered white completely
Not a warning; it must have snowed all night.
The bunnies were seen in their usual places,
Little behind three, New into one.
Friday, February 16, 2024
Here we go
line ‘em up
i have expressive and receptive aphasia.
how about that
it’ll be warm out soon
Bright on the lawn
It’s cold and the morning light shines golden.
The three deer have left the backyard.
Twenty eight degrees now
Thirty two will be the high.
I think it’s cold for sleeping on the ground.
Haven’t regularly seen much of the deer
So we aren’t familiar with their habits ,
Not like our friends the rabbits
Thursday, February 15, 2024
Shine through it all
Keep pots and kettles clean
Dress for the occasion
Seems you’re seen in good light
Stay happy, sunshine
Wednesday, February 14, 2024
i was a fool
My song from the sixties came back
Along with New and Little, the missing rabbits.
Although it’s cold we’re on the right track.
No doubt we’ll fall into old habits.

Time riding well
How did I know I’d run
Into so many cowboys in Hollywood.
They had to be somewhere.
Like the actors they’re everywhere
It’s hard to be a civilian and ignore them
Everywhere you go is the thick of it.
Playing the piano in my garage-studio
Kept me hidden away.

core thought
core thought
core thoughtat home thinking a spark
where day starts,
all begins in the dark.
five this morning
playing piano in my head
figuring it out, doing the left hand,
making it better, keeping it tight, lying in bed.
and i said, time moves on, six-thirty; oh,
the sun is on the mask now, the stone medallion
over the door on the building opposite our window.
i’m up this instant and want to take a photo of it.
the mask is already
a few hundred years old
and i want to preserve it
forever, on celluloid? am i joking?
and i take one, it is blurry.
i take five, all are blurry.
for one minute some days,
some times i think of
these swans in stone, this family seal.
the sun kisses it brief moments, mornings
when it is sunny. if i am looking
at the right time, in the right month, i see it.
though, can’t think of it now, planning this day, i am.
have to make breakfast and shower,
then catch a train to pick up the car.
we’ll find a place to park it when we get here
back to where we start, some other hour
at the beginning, home again
at the beginning of the day
then, when the sun is rising
One third
Can clean the ledges
Wipe the edges
Note the grey comes through .
0n this darker morning
The month I was born in
Here is a fine hello to you.
So we carry the grey
Drag it through the sky
It’s the kind of day it is.
Hold on to your smile
We will persist
In two thirds the month to go
Thursday, February 08, 2024
Eight is great
Did you see the space?
We’re goings to Smucker’s town.
This is a big deal , a little town an hour away
Out in the country.
Ready to float.
Open the moat

Ten spot
Coming and going this morning starts well.
We’re ducking sadness
We think yesterday we lost our bunny, or two.
We will see how days develop.
No quick decisions.
The full story develops.
Now we’re keeping alert for an early spring.
We’ve no snow here in February
No longer a regular winter
Tuesday, February 06, 2024
Solid bearings
Empty street car beds
Silent rolling through nothing special
Give me a bay and a boat
Floating our way, we shall
Monday, February 05, 2024
First feb week
Seek out the peak
Just a quick squeak
Remembering tight waves we rode
Terry and I floating
Struggling to get by
We made it to another day
