In a chunk

 we've a bite

of dear February going, 

missing. chunked out.  gone.

look at this month where you can see it.

 a calendar does well for viewing.

now call this month half gone and it has

been a pleasure. 

some snow,

nothing much else to note.

 can't gloat, so feb is light for pleasure.

vacant even. 

dormant catches it in good measure

 idle. can't hear it ticking.

exhale easy, easy.

turning

 can weather be so on the verge

of changing from the throws of deep winter to a later, lighter breathe of spring.

Let us not kid ourselves.

The middle of February is not the 

time for a weather turnaround. 

You may think about it;  

It then quit, get real.

you can wait this out for a while.

real change will arrive later.

 what a strong time for beams

shooting straight to my wall

over fields and trees, across 

yesterday's fallen snow, frozen 

stiff, cold with nowhere to go.

beam on will ya.  shine in.

afternoon sun we'll take you

a few hours. beam in lovely.

you're ours.

clouds abscent

 here is Sunday, above ... blue sky.

thick snow on the ground, three days old.

 what more do you need?

 how about a hug? less cold.

 warm stones on a crackling fireplace 

and a cozy rug.

that's why winter has a pretty blue sky;

to distract you.
