daring to be,
a tough time for the world.
we move ahead cautiously.
some live some die.
we're here today in the
spirit of together.
* * *
there is
global concern for how the world's going.
doctors define our situation.
while we continue as
always,
we drive-by crowded shopping center parking lots and wonder what everyone else is thinking.
***
some places have poetry on - or coming
out of them
i’ve found poems by looking at forgotten notes i left in the
pockets
of jackets i haven’t worn for years,
***
i've
found poetry on city streets, especially at corners,
in crowded
stores when the music’s not too loud
on buses, on hot days
in rain or snow, especially when traffic flows,
i see poetry outside when a cloud tilts a certain way,
in a coffee shop, when the waitress
places the menu upside down on the counter and walks quickly a block away in her
mind,
***
i feel poetry when touching an old wooden hand
rail,
while walking soft carpeted
stairs ... up or down
and in the
colors in a painting; a landscape i once saw in a museum
that reminds me of some place i long to be
and how about you ...
how do you feel poetry ?
