Humidity sets upon us
for the first time we felt
dampness in the air
decided then it was uncomfortable.
we've no patience to put up with this.
we've been set upon as heat enters.
shake it off.

It is being said
emperaures will soar next week.
near a hundred for a few days.
we'll see how the earth insulates.
maybe i'm off course.
or maybe the house will hold
resistance to the projected heat
we'll find out in a few days.
how hot will it get inside,
will the earth protect us?
