learning curves

in schools they teach more, earlier
today's kids take after their mothers
and is it from drinking too much milk
that makes some dumber than udders?

Because I don’t know who you are or what you thought I was right about, I’ll give you the full two dollar answer:

I wrote six or eight versions of these eight lines. I had it all down, but couldn’t get it right. Maybe because of false logic involved. I kept changing little words, moving them around.

The “mothers” reference was actually a red herring; it came out of left field and it wasn’t really going anywhere. I first put “mother” into the poem because it rhymed with udders, and it sounded like I was backing the superior intelligence of the women of the world. The object of the poem I had in mind was to be funny, sound like I was saying something, and to tie it off with the end rhyme. In the end, it worked.

Thanks for reading, commenting and enjoying it.
