literally being

life as a series of errors
and ambiguous good intention
gives me pause when asked,
“are you all set?”

standing, at a loss;
pondering reply; oh, my.
it takes time, mine and thine,
to respond forthright acceptably.

Hi Jack,
I like this, so much, in a way I can't explain, except that I identify. This poem makes me want to know more, and also, to have the answer, for myself. Your poem is an excellent internal reflection, expressed, with an atmosphere of both mystery and universality. The answer is poised on the edge, applicable perhaps to an ordinary circumstance, or to the profound; and likely, never known. Once again, in a few simple phrases, you create a speaker with concrete form, standing and pondering. I love your opening, and every word.
